1962 Chevrolet Corvette
3-OWNER, BUILT 350, MUNCIE 4-SPEED, ROMAN RED, BLACK VINYL INTERIOR, FRONT DISCS
Are you on the hunt for a C1 Corvette that you don't have to feel guilty about taking out and enjoying? Then rest assured your search is over! This gorgeous 1962 Chevrolet Corvette features a gorgeous red on black color combo, stinger hood- although the sale includes the original 1962 hood, a built 350ci V8 and a Muncie M21 4-speed. Doesn't get much better than that right!
The hard part with any classic is knowing what has been done to it over the years, well this '62 Vette is a 3-owner vehicle that was under the original owner's care until 1972 when he sold it to a gentleman in Pennsylvania. Around 1988 that gentleman decided it was time to beef up the car a bit and built a '72 350 4-bolt main and a M21 Muncie 4-speed for the car. He also at this point replaced the rear gear to a 3.73 posi and changed the wheels. He then sold it to the current owner in 1996.
He almost immediately had the car repainted in the original DuPont Lucite Roman Red Acrylic lacquer and also replaced the convertible top. The body frame chrome and interior all appear very original and haven't been cut up or modified. Plus just look at the underside and how clean the car is! The body is very straight although the paint is just over 22 years old at this point so it shows very well, but does have some blemishes that you would expect with a driver.
Inside the engine bay you'll find the built 350 that features forged crank, forged pistons, 10:1 compression, 492 angle plug heads, bronze guides, hardened valve seats, crane valve springs, lunati hydraulic lifters, pink rods, weiand intake and a carter 625 AFB carburetor. You'll also find MSD electronic ignition and headman HPC headers. While you'll notice there is no power steering, the sale also includes another steering column just in case someone wanted to add power steering. Stopping power comes thanks to front disc brakes and a dual master cylinder kit. At the corners you'll find all brand new springs and shocks with 15" wheels. Don't sleep on this '62, unlike most C1's the power is there if you want it!
Inside the interior appears to be original and will take you back to 1962. It shows very well and doesn't need anything, the black vinyl shows no tears or rips in the seats and your hands feel right at home on the black steering wheel.
Don't miss your chance to own a very rare car that is ready for the open road or just a cruise to your local car show. Call today!
