1980 Buick Riviera S-Type
RARE S-TYPE, FACTORY 350 V8, BEAUTIFULLY CARED FOR, UNIQUE CRUISER!
Some may say the Buick Riviera was dead after the mid 1970s, but examples like this 1980 Buick Riviera S-Type would beg to differ. You didn't read that wrong, and it isn't a T-Type misprint—this is an S-Type! This beautiful front-wheel-drive classic is set up right and equipped with a couple of goodies sure to make any staunch rear-wheel-drive enthusiast consider it.
The first thing that catches anyone's eye about this car is the gorgeous beige and dark blue two-tone paint job. A combination that may sound odd to the ear looks stunning to the eye. You won't hear anything but compliments cruising in a beauty like this! Originally manufactured as a slick top, the current owner of this Buick had a vinyl top added for a classy, sleeper look. Having certainly seen a repaint in its lifetime, the current coat has a like-new sheen to it. Finishing off the classic Buick look is a set of factory wire wheel covers. But don't be fooled; this is not your grandmother's car.
We'll just cut right to the chase and tell you what makes this car so special. Though standard equipment was a turbo-charged V6 (which is cool in its own right), the Oldsmobile 350 Rocket V8 was available as optional equipment. Yep, the original owner of this car sprung for the V8! Coupled to a THM325 transmission, this FWD beauty is a comfortable cruiser. Those who don't like FWD can do what they like, but the extra legroom afforded by the lack of a driveshaft does not go unnoticed.
Speaking of legroom, the interior of this Buick is incredibly spacious given it is a mid-sized car. The interior remains largely stock and unmodified with the exception of the welcome addition of custom cupholders and an aftermarket stereo. Truly as comfortable as the come, this Buick is a mini-land yacht ready to cruise anywhere you want to go. It has a great exhaust note that has a nice rumble, but isn't overwhelming. This is one cushy cruiser! Overall, the interior is in great original condition and shows minimal wear. According to the owner, the mileage is accurate, but we do not have any solid documentation on hand to back up this claim aside from handwritten notes from previous owners.
If you're looking for something rare, unique, and comfortable, this old Buick may just fit the bill. You'll have a hard time finding another like it! Don't miss out!
